How Do You Plan A Labor Day Party?
We all know that party planning is no small task… you have to balance cooking, cleaning, decorating, and hosting all at the same time. The one tip I can give for planning and hosting a party is to write everything down!
We all know the power of making a list, but I like to take it further! Whenever I’m party planning, I write separate to-do lists for all my cooking, cleaning, and decorating. Then, I’ll go around the house with sticky notes and leave myself reminders for each task. This is particularly useful with food items, you can pick out and label all the serving bowls and utensils ahead of time.
Here are a couple of other quick tips that have helped me host fabulous parties over the years…
- Put up your decorations ahead of time! Honestly, I usually do this several days before a party so it’s checked off my list before cooking comes into the picture.
- When you’re planning the menu, don’t spread yourself too thin! It’s better to double or triple a handful of good recipes to feed a crowd rather than making a dozen different dishes.
- Make sure you’ve planned out an oven schedule! My method of reserving space in the oven is to rely heavily on my Crock Pots. A ‘hands-free’ countertop Crock Pot will make your life much easier; I’ve included some terrific Slow Cooker recipes below.
You can create your entire menu from these drinks, appetizers, crock pot recipes, grilled main dishes, sides, salads, and desserts. With these recipes, tips, and essential amazon items, you’re destined to throw a party for the record books!
