Make Lazy Lasagna For…
- Weeknight Meals
- Casual Entertaining
- Potlucks and Covered Dish Suppers
- Holiday Parties
- Block Parties
- Graduation Celebrations
- Birthday Parties
This dish is honestly fool-proof since it relies on so many shortcuts. You’ll use frozen ravioli and jarred Alfredo sauce to cut down on prep time and clean-up, plus it’s an easy make-ahead recipe, so you can prepare it at your own convenience.
Ingredients for Cheesy White Ravioli
- Frozen or Premade Cheese Ravioli
- Ground Italian Sausage – cooked and drained
- Ricotta Cheese – you can use cottage cheese as substitute
- Egg
- Fresh Parsley
- Jarred Alfredo Sauce
- Parmesan Cheese – shredded
- Mozzarella Cheese – shredded
- Black Pepper
PRO TIP: Shred or grate your own cheese instead of buying grated cheese from the store. When you grate it at home you can choose how thick to grate it and I’ve found that it gives a dish a fresher flavor.
How to Make Cheesy White Ravioli
Layering is the name of the game with this recipe! All you’ll need is 9 simple ingredients and 15 minutes of preparation to make this dish!
- Preheat oven to 350° and add 1/4 cup of jarred alfredo sauce to the bottom of a casserole dish.
- Place ravioli over the sauce at the bottom of the casserole dish creating first layer. Spoon half of the cooked sausage on top of the ravioli in your casserole dish and set aside.

- Create next layer by placing the rest of the ravioli on top of the sauce, then add remaining sausage and drizzle the rest of the alfredo on top.
- Sprinkle shredded parmesan cheese and mozzarella then cover with foil and bake for 15 minutes. Bake uncovered for additonal15-20 minutes until top is golden brown.
Tips for Making This Recipe
- Jarred sauces can be very expensive, but with this recipe, I definitely recommend splurging to buy a good brand of Alfredo sauce. It will make a world of difference when it comes to flavor.
- You can prepare this recipe in the morning before work or the night before you serve it, and then leave it covered in the fridge until you’re ready to bake it!
Substitutions For Cheesy White Ravioli
If you’re not the biggest fan of one of these ingredients, that’s no problem! Here are some of the substitutions you can make…
- Chorizo, Ground Turkey Sausage, and Ground Chicken Sausage can all be substituted for Ground Italian Sausage
- Cottage Cheese can be used as a substitution for Ricotta Cheese
- Jarred Vodka Sauce, Jarred Marinara Sauce, Homemade Alfredo, and Homemade Marinara can all be used in place of the Jarred Alfredo Sauce in this recipe
How to Serve Cheesy White Ravioli
Since this recipe is baked in a casserole dish, I like to serve it at the table. I recommend putting down two trivets on your dining table and then placing the casserole dish right on top.
I like this family-style method of serving because it allows people to serve themselves as much as they’d like without having to get up and leave the dinner table.
Can this Recipe Be Made-Ahead of Time?
Yes, it sure can! Follow the recipe as per the instructions right up until step 5 when you bake it. Once you’ve finished creating your layers, top your ‘Lazy Lasagna’ with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese, then cover with foil and refrigerate for up to 24 hours.
Place your dish in the oven 30 minutes before you’re going to serve it, and bake according to the directions. This recipe also makes terrific leftovers, so when you’re done enjoying your meal transfer the ravioli to an airtight container and it will keep for 3-5 days.
